A Celebration of the Arts
Emerging from the restrictive education system of postwar Britain into the liberating cultural revolution of the
60s and 70s, Andy found his voice through music, poetry
and painting - each medium continuing to inform and
enrich the other in his creative practice. With colour as his
primary language, Andy9s work explores the emotional

layered, scraped, textured and reworked over time building a poetic surface where the unconscious and
imagination meet. Influenced by natural forms but rooted
in expressive abstraction, his compositions resonate with
a quiet, evocative power.
Andy has published three books combining his paintings
and poetry, as well as a standalone poetry collection
illustrated with his black-and-white photographs.
